MK Heck

Mary Kate (‘MK’) Heck is the Managing Director of Growth at Vernal Point and is responsible for managing the firm’s strategic relationships, overseeing business development, and refining internal processes to allow the firm to scale. She also leads internal committees focused on continually improving team performance and client directed communications. Given her extensive network in the private real estate world, she also contributes to the investment team’s sourcing of investment managers.

MK has over 16 years of experience in the investment management industry managing complex institutional client relationships, product launches, and operational upgrades. After starting her career in Deloitte’s CMBS division, MK worked within Blackstone’s hedge fund and real estate groups, helping to launch proprietary technology solutions and to manage investor relations across some of the largest global allocators. Most recently, MK spent several years building, launching, and scaling a new product division for institutional investors at Juniper Square, where she spearheaded the relationships with 30 of the top 100 global institutional investors as beta clients. 

MK received her B.A. in Economics and Environmental Science from Bucknell University and was the recipient of the William Gretzinger Award for highest standing in Economics. She currently serves on the board of the San Francisco branch of WIRE (Women In Real Estate) and has previously served on the editorial board of IREI (Institutional Real Estate, Inc.).
